On October 8, 2022, Brych was introduced in Frankfurt together with the other ambassadors by tournament director Philipp Lahm and ambassador Celia Šašić. As an official ambassador, Dr. Felix Brych will support his home city in the preparation and staging of UEFA Euro 2024.

The law graduate was born in Munich on August 3, 1975. He stands for "fair play" like no other: as a referee, he has refereed in the Bundesliga since 2004 and in the Champions League from 2008 to 2021. In 2017, FIFA named him world referee and the DFB has already honored him five times as referee of the year. At the last EURO 2020, he was the only referee to officiate five matches. He ended his international career at the end of December 2021.

Off the pitch, Felix Brych is involved in youth work at the Bavarian Football Association and inspires people to get active. For his extraordinary achievements, he was awarded the Medal of Honor of the City of Munich, which he is representing for UEFA EURO 2024.

Felix Brych: "Open-mindedness, tolerance and fairness are important to me"

Felix Brych commented on his appointment: "I am looking forward to the role as Host City Ambassador at UEFA EURO 2024 for my home city of Munich. As an internationally active referee, the values of cosmopolitanism, tolerance and fairness are particularly close to my heart. And I would like to help ensure that the European Football Championship provides impetus for grassroots sport and that girls and boys in particular are inspired to take up sport again."

Another goal for him - the EURO 2024 should of course entertain and inspire: "As host city, Munich will once again do everything it can to ensure that all visitors feel comfortable and safe in our city. As a cosmopolitan city, we naturally also want to welcome our guests in the best possible way, entertain them, allow them to participate in Munich's everyday culture and spark a great deal of enthusiasm for the tournament beyond the six matches in the arena."

For Brych, the impact of the sustainable tournament on Munich itself is also crucial: "This sporting event has the power to provide a wonderful fresh impetus for our urban society and the entire country, as it did during the 2006 World Cup, in addition to boosting our image, economic factors and tourism."
