How the Justizpalast is used today

Since its completion in 1897, the building has been the seat of the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice.

In addition, most of the civil chambers of the Munich I Regional Court meet here. The criminal chambers were relocated to the Munich Criminal Justice Center in Nymphenburger Strasse as early as 1977.

Glass dome at a height of 67 meters

In the atrium of the Palace of Justice, a massive glass dome is located at a height of approximately 67 meters. Between impressive staircases and three large round-arched windows, exhibitions with a connection to justice are occasionally held.

In 1943, the Palace of Justice was the scene of the trials of the members of the student resistance group "White Rose". A permanent exhibition in the building commemorates the courageous students who stood up against the Nazi regime.
