Pro surfers meet at the "Eisbach hotspot"

Die Münchner Tatort-Kommisare Ivo Batic und Franz Leitmayr ermitteln im Fall "Die ewige Welle"
BR/Wiedemann & Berg Television GmbH & Co. KG/Hendrik Heiden
The German TV show detectives Ivo Batic (Miroslav Nemec, r.) and Franz Leitmayr (Udo Wachtveitl) have also investigated at the Eisbach.

Only absolute professionals should venture into the water here, because surfing is neither easy nor safe and therefore not suitable for beginners. Swimming and bathing is not allowed here. But don't worry, the spot is also ideal for hanging out in the English Garden.

How do you get there? The Eisbachwelle is hard to miss: from the National Museum bus stop, you can see the spectators on Prinzregentenstrasse on the parapet of the small bridge right by the Haus der Kunst. Or you just follow one of the people who carry their surfboard through the English Garden.

After a detour to the Haus der Kunst museum or the associated Golden Bar, you can watch the Eisbach surfers surfing on your way home on a warm summer evening, but also in the depths of winter.
