Grave sites and history of the Bogenhausen cemetery

The cemetery belongs to St. George's Church and today has 208 grave sites, the majority of which have a mostly modest appearance.

There is evidence that the cemetery has existed since the 9th century. Bogenhausen was incorporated into Munich in 1892, but the cemetery has only officially belonged to the city since 1902.

In 1952 the cemetery was completely redesigned, and in 1959 there was another renovation of the municipal area.
