Teufelsrad: Oktoberfest classic for the brave
The principle of the Teufelsrad is as simple as it is entertaining: a huge, inclined disc rotates faster and faster during a ride. Whoever defies the centrifugal force for a particularly long time and can hold on the longest without being thrown off the turntable wins. Tip: The best chances of victory are those who can get a place as centrally as possible on the Devil's Wheel.
The Teufelsrad has been at the Oktoberfest for over 100 years. At the end of the 1940s, it was taken over by Rudolf Feldl. After his death in 1970, his wife Betty took over until her death in 2002. Even the Munich originals Karl Valentin and Liesl Karlstadt once rode the Devil's Wheel.
