Oktoberfest tradition of the Marstall Festzelt: Under the sign of the royal horses
Where the Marstall Festzelt stands today used to be the Hippodrom, which was particularly popular with the younger party crowd until 2013. Since its opening in 2014, however, the Marstall has taken a different approach, with the aim of making the tent a meeting point for families, especially during the day. The style of the tent was inspired by the Royal Riding School, which used to be called the “Marstall”. You'll notice this when you take a closer look at the details, as horses are a recurring motive. Particularly impressive in this respect is the quadriga enthroned at the top of the tent - four horses led by Bavaria, the patron saint of Bavaria.
Atmosphere in the Marstall Festzelt

If you want to go to the Oktoberfest with your children, then you can't go wrong with the Marstall Festzelt during the day. There are changing tables here as well as a menu just for the little ones. That's why it's rather cozy in the tent during the day, especially since dancing on the benches is not allowed before 4 pm. However, this changes as the evening gets later, because then the Marstall Festzelt is also very lively, not least due to the music carousel with its spinning horses.
